Introduction A number of studies have proposed a positive correlation between parental occupational exposure to paint (within the period between conception and pregnancy) and an increase susceptibility of their offspring to childhood leukemia. Much remains unexplored with regard to the etiology of infancy leukemia along with its main sub-types, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). However, there is a possibility that they trace their roots to a blend of both environmental and genetic factors. The blend may vary per disease sub-type and in the cases of ALL, through immunophenotype.
